When I noticed covid being tough for our very social daughter (quarantine started the day after her 6th birthday), I bought a huge stack of comic books and adventure books I knew she'd like. Kept it secret, but whenever she looked bored/blue I happened to have a new book.

I am 178 games deep into my goal of beating 205 games within the calendar year of 2025 and I gotta say...
Save for -exactly one- AAA game, all the big studio stuff has been "it's fine" or "resoundingly disappointing" for me.
The smaller/more focused the game, the more I have enjoyed it this year.

If you like an author's work, the best thing you can do is buy it. The second best thing you can do is ask your local library to buy it. Or, do both!

It’s good to explain that the CDC is lying and vaccines still unequivocally do not cause autism, even if it just reaches one person on here who has doubts. But the fight is out there, not in here; and the time to let go of the information deficit model of science communication was decades ago

Artists, send invoices. That way, no one has to say what the money is for on Paypal's paper trail.
