Both Borrego and Murphy were careful not to throw Jose under the buss, but Jose cost them the game with the turnover and then the inbound defensive possession
This is where I think they lost the game. They should've taken time off the clock & really made Edwards win it there. The Pels don't know how to close, but the hope is that after this extended lesson, this'll be the last time they have to learn how to close games.
Trey Murphy says on the last defensive play in regulation they had a foul to give and were supposed to foul, but did but execute. Ant Edwards got the game tying layup here.

The Pelicans need their rookies to play well to have a chance to win games. That’s asking far too much from them.

NEW: For weeks, a mysterious figure was embedded in the Pelicans' inner circle. The team now confirms Jordan Dumars, son of EVP Joe Dumars, is a "Basketball Operations Consultant."

As Troy Weaver runs day-to-day operations, the unexplained involvement of Joe Dumars' son adds a new layer of ambiguity to the team's chain of command

As the Pelicans had ZERO vetting process for Dumars, @johnhollinger.bsky.social reports no one called Detroit to vet Weaver.

John is telling you what we have all been wondering: Joe Dumars is largely checked out when it comes to team day to day operations. He's handed the keys over to Troy Weaver and is collecting a handsome check.

This makes me so sad. I love my team.

And ownership tore it up and threw it in the incinerator this offseason.

It takes an astounding amount of arrogance to trade your first round pick unprotected when the last 6 years have shown that the Pelicans cannot win without Zion Williamson and that Zion Williamson cannot stay healthy

The longer Pelicans ownership drags this out, the worse it is for Willie Green and his family and frankly everyone involved in the organization

Everything flows back to ownership. Ownership has directed Dumars to cut costs. Ownership is panicking they can't get sponsors, which fuel these fan nights and give away. Ownership uses one marketing team for two sports organization, meaning the Pels are the lesser priority during football.

You guys remember when the Kings let Mike Brown coach a practice and then fired him after? Like they let him run a full practice, spend 15 minutes talking to media, and then fired him before they boarded a plane?

It's really something that the Pelicans were like "let's turn our franchise over to the guys most responsible for that Pistons team that had the longest losing streak in NBA history" and it's not going very well.

What’s not: a .703 FTr, which is .215 higher than his career averages (.487) and that can be contributed to getting to angles quicker, that came along with his “slimmer” frame.
