Irish universities are under-funded, recent salary increases were not funded putting more pressure on budgets, there is widespread precarity of employment, research infrastructure is creaking, rarely funding for equipment repair & maintenance, and PhD scholarship stipends are inadequate etc etc

It’s beyond outrageous that UK is continuing to supply arms to Israel, when there is - beyond all doubt - a “clear risk” they could be used to commit or facilitate serious violations of international humanitarian law. What else are ministers waiting for? Unforgivable complicity
Overnight, the UN Emergency Relief Coordinator warned that genocide is possible in Gaza. I asked an urgent question Does this Govt stand by its duty to prevent under the Genocide Convention, and will it act to uphold humanitarian law?

Or just say “we did all we could.”

We’re at a stage now where voting for either Left or Right has no meaning - because the politicians on either side are being funded by business. This is what that looks like: breaks & bail outs for the funders, cuts for public services, then monetisation.
One rule for the rich, another for the poor and disabled. It genuinely surprises me sometimes that the British population hasn’t launched an insurrection. (The only more amazing thing is that Scotland hasn’t)

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.
