I am frothing at the mouth as my favorite D&D pairing in my current campaign is now canon and we just realized some fantastic parallels that cause the perfect balance of conflict but not relationship breaking Drama. And also they’re trying to break out of Hell.

Big-budget sci fi epic where one of the principal alien characters is a puppet whose operator is clearly visible at all times. Like, it's a REALLY GOOD puppet, you can totally see where the $100 000 000 budget went, but the puppeteer is right there. You can see them. This is never acknowledged.

I will never ever judge writers who can’t make deadlines bc some fics basically write themselves and other fics physically resist every single attempt at stringing even a couple of words together for no reason at all and no one is more frustrated than the person trying to write the goddamn fic

Character *is* choice. Backstory and quirks are only window dressing if they don't inform the choices the characters make that propel the story. The more interesting the choices, the more interesting the character. And often times, audiences want characters making different choices than they would.
