English is suffering an identity crisis.

It was born out of the tongues of the Germanic tribes who once swept across Britain. Yet now, it has a vocabulary dominated by French and Latin terms.

Is English still Germanic?

Let's see: m.youtube.com/watch?v=PCE4...
Is English really a Germanic language?

The politest thing you can say about the twilight of the techbros going on at the moment is that it proves beyond doubt that intelligence comes in different forms and is often not transferable between them.

Ok so let's see if Bluesky can do the good stuff that Twitter sometimes managed. If you are in the #sciencemuseum and have lost a #debitcard on the ground floor, I'm about to hand it in by the main entrance. I'm not saying what name is on the card, for obvious reasons!

Post you from another era - Glastonbury Festival 1994 or 1995. I miss that waistcoat!

Appreciate this may not be a universally popular opinion but the less you treat BlueSky as a crusade or cause, and the more you position it as simply a superior user experience with a better governance approach, the more sustainable the growth will be.

Add your name to my petition here: www.stalbanslibdems.org.uk/campaigns/pe...

Alongside this petition, I have written to the Government to object to its potential closure in the strongest possible terms.

Busy setting myself up on Bluesky; working out which Twitter accounts to find and follow here.
Decision: I still follow a lot of d**ks (male and female) on Twitter, mostly out of a morbid curiosity about the sh1t they post. Do I do same here, or give myself a break? Leaning to the latter tbh.
