Quite a lot actually, and we wrote it too.

Who the fuck does Trump think he is? Telling Ukraine about its territorial concessions without involving it in talks. Telling Europe about its responsibilities without providing any assistance.

A clear, rational explanation shutting down fearmongering from an idiot. 👍
Fighting for my life to get a full sentence out with Nick Ferrari on LBC just now.

We have to be realistic about safe routes:
It’s a small number of people trying to come here & we desperately need people, too.

I'm sure all the usual right wing gobshites will be furiously demanding an Inquiry and shouting about cover-ups.

We don't defeat populists by calling out their lies. We tried that. Facts are complicated, and the audience for populism wants simplicity. It won't work.

We defeat populists by enacting bold political ideas that improve lives for the disenfranchised, and make the world seem less grotesquely unfair.

It does seem to me like whenever a minister of state is working class (or even lower middle class), their credentials are endlessly questioned, while if they are upper middle class, it doesn't matter if they are wildly unqualified for the job, no one raises an eyebrow.

The Farage-athon in our media has to stop. All he represents is the weaponisation of prejudice to keep people angry and uninformed. But headlines about him go on and on, building up a myth instead of exposing him for the nasty little con artist he is.
Years of this shit. Please can 2025 be different.

We're constantly fed a narrative of unlimited numbers of *potential* immigrants.

The truth is, by a long way, most people stay put.
And if they do move, they move within the borders of their country.
And if they do leave, they go next door.
And if policy allows it, they tend to go back again, too.
Most international migrants don't move very far from their home countries.

This chart shows the shortest distance between the borders of origin and destination countries for all international migrants. The top destination is a neighbouring country.

It’s ok to not be ok. Any time of the year.

If you’re having a tough time feel free to vent or chat in the comments. You might be alone physically but you’re not in terms of your situation, remember that.

Ok so Trump won again, Musk is buying up democracy, media is overdosing on Farage and Tory sour grapes…
BUT
We kicked the Tories out, the right is split, Brexit hovers over the shredder, Trump and Musk will trip up over their monstrous egos and we moved to Bluesky.

There’s always hope.
Cheers all🎄🥂

Boris Johnson has written a Mail article today likening the current Labour government to the crimes of Harold Shipman. Tasteless doesn’t begin to describe it. Still hard to believe he ever got to be prime minister of Great Britain.

If Brexit was in any way good or had worked, no one, not even the most ardent and paranoid Brexiter, would be worried about its future because it would already be assured. They are only panicking now because it has so evidently failed.

Because this 5% or so of immigration is the kind that makes people angry, resentful, and frightened.

If we talked more about the 95% of immigration that is for work, study, to support our vital industries & our economy, well... people just wouldn't be so worried about it.
Through government programs (also under the Tories) three times as many immigrate to the Britain, to fill skills based gaps in the job market. They come from all over the world, various colours, cultures and nationalities. Why focus on solely on small boat arrivals, as a source of vilification?
