"Beyond its material impacts, the settlement plays a symbolic and cultural role in the ongoing effort to entrench an exclusive Zionist narrative ... Israeli settler groups have repeatedly invoked biblical justifications for taking over the site, despite archaeological evidence refuting such claims."

"Israel's occupation has shaped the West Bank's economy for nearly six decades, creating a structure in which Palestinians are largely prevented from building a self-sustaining economy and instead pushed into dependency on work in Israel ... or in its illegal settlements."

More crimes against humanity in Israel’s ongoing genocide
"[W]hat you will hear in the Israeli media is that suspects were shot in Gaza for crossing the yellow line... You won't hear that those suspects were 10- and 12-year-old boys who were collecting firewood, and that under international law, you can't shoot children [for] cross[ing] an invisible line."
Israel has announced it will reopen the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt in the next few days. However, the border will only open in one direction: for Palestinians to exit. Israeli American human rights lawyer Sari Bashi says Israel’s goal is to “continue the ethnic cleansing of Gaza.”

"What pains me most is the world's insistence on describing this situation as a 'ceasefire' while the bombing, the killing, and the destruction continue ... What kind of ceasefire is this, when the fire never truly stops?"
What the world does not see is that, day after day, the Israeli military expands its control inside Gaza. It advances slowly, swallowing a street, a neighborhood, an entire area — quietly redrawing the map while the world celebrates a fabricated “ceasefire.”
Israel Is Quietly Expanding Its Occupation of Gaza Under Cover of “Ceasefire”
For us here in Gaza, this “ceasefire” is a fiction. The bombing has continued as Israel expands its Yellow Line.

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Mohammed. Mohammed is 25 years old and before this worked in a market and a house goods store. At the beginning of the war his house was bombed and he lost 22 members of his family who were sheltering there. He is trying to save the survivors.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

This is so crazy, flouting every international law and the IN charter itself The genociders get rewarded and Palestinians are punished just for being born in a land wanted by others

The Security Council’s backing of the Trump plan for Gaza ignores international law, punishes the Palestinians, and rewards those responsible for genocide.

Our carceral state. It needs to stop
Most of us have no idea how bad it is inside ICE detention centers because they have kept it hidden. Then a truth teller shows up and says it plain.

The conditions are filthy. The treatment is inhumane. The abuse is Systematic and routine.

It’s been hard to know what’s happening in DC too
ICE has been raiding my neighborhood and surrounding ones for the last couple of weeks now. They commandeered my local church (against the pastor's will) for a staging site and raided supermarkets, parks, Goodwills, bus stops, you name it.

The national media's been silent. So has @mayor.lacity.gov.
Engagement on our updates re: ICE kidnappings/fed siege of Los Angeles is significantly lower on Bluesky compared to Twitter. Do ppl on here not care about LA anymore? Are feeds being taken over by liberal commentators? What's going on?

Community members on the ground can't do it all. We need help.

Something applicable across the country and I’m afraid hard to get across to people is to stop believing that the police are going to help. It’s really important to understand that the police are not your friend and will not protect the community
The federal blitz moved to Charlotte, but the trauma and damage in Chicago are still with us—and DHS says 1,000 agents will hit our streets in March. I wrote about what this moment demands of us: care, clarity, and preparation.
What Now, Chicago? Regrouping After Midway Blitz
Let’s make this a winter of fortification, of learning, and bonding together like the winter snow that federal agents are so afraid of.
