This is very concerning. In future the BBC should submit any proposals for the Reith Lectures to Karoline Leavitt at the White House so that President Trump can sign off on them. Maye Pete Hegseth next year?

I know nothing about Dr Who, but, for Londoners, the phrase "Going For Dinner With Billie Piper" is the absolute best way to remember the order of the vertical streets running east to west in Soho (Greek, Frith, Dean, Wardour, Berwick, Poland) and has saved many a late night out

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Lord Dick Taverne. He will be greatly missed by all of us, and his colleagues in the House of Lords.

His life and long record of public service stand as an inspiration and a reminder of politics at its best.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

This is Graham Linehan, who UKLabour, WesStreeting and every columnist in the country rushed to defend when he was arrested by police, after inciting online violence and smashed a trans girl’s phone. They are even changing the law specifically to protect him. “Just a joke” @mrjamesob.bsky.social

The Oxford St Christmas lights are switched on the 5th November. Bonfire night. I wonder how the usual suspects will deal with this clash of 'Englishness'. (Even I'm feeling a sense of rage at this but for different reasons I hope.)

On Yom Kippur many Jewish people in Britain have their phones off to mark the holy day.

As it ends at 723pm, some will hear the tragic Manchester news for the first time.

At that time, please join many of us to send a message of solidarity to British Jews. Thanks Together coalition for proposing.

With just under half of the votes counted, pro-European forces led by Maia Sandu are already heading toward a crushing majority. Even before the diaspora vote is added — which is expected to heavily favour Europe — this result signals a decisive defeat for the pro-Russian bloc. 1/2

I have never, in hundreds & hundreds of sessions, met a trauma survivor who wanted to be "rescued."

I HAVE met hundreds of survivors who wanted to be seen & supported in rescuing themselves-- & caring for the past version of themselves who actually did need rescuing at one time.

UK recognition of the State of Palestine was a promise made to my great grandfather decades ago. While on its own, recognition won’t solve anything without further action, it is a down payment on peace. Today we have just a little more hope, and hope is contagious.

Elon Musk openly called for violence on our streets yesterday.

I hope politicians from all parties come together to condemn his deeply dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric.

Britain must stand united against this clear attempt to undermine our democracy.

Big day of demos in London town today, noticeable police presence from early on. Errands done and now home, and a day of the police helicopter overhead awaits. Good luck getting a cab in the west end today!
