It's no longer left versus right or even Democrat versus Republican.

It’s now democracy versus oligarchy. Freedom versus dictatorship. Right versus wrong.

Millions hit the streets this weekend in solidarity with each other and to affirm the foundations of the common good.

People ask me what I think of the assassination from yesterday. I barely think of it. But here’s what I think when I do think of it.

Incompetence takes many forms. Including not knowing what year you are in. Or that you are serving a despot. If you know Marco Rubio, can you help him? Since he is our Secretary of State—let’s take pity on him. Someone help. #littlemarco #marcorubio #doeshehaveasoul #anyshame? #anyatall?

Horrible.

This. There is no equivalence.
Both sides news coverage is killing democracy and there is no place where it is more dangerous that in how legacy media covers the GOP attacks on free and fair elections.

For Trump, a military conflict with Iran would distract from:

-Sinking poll numbers
-A devastating (and unpopular) budget bill
-Harmful trade wars
-Unleashing the military on American soil
-Millions of people protesting his authoritarianism

We must remain on high alert.

Evil. No other word.
The Trump Administration is reportedly discussing a goal of deporting a million people this year. It treats people “like pawns who can be moved at will around a global chessboard, to countries that sound less hospitable,” Jon Allsop writes.
The Real Audience for Trump’s Anti-Immigrant Spectacles
A plan to deport people to countries that aren’t their home is cruel, performative politics—whether it works or not.

Trump’s attempted takeover of the LOC may also be a test case to see how susceptible congressional Republicans are to his power grab. If they let him install ideologues throughout the LOC, maybe they’d let him do the same to other indispensable legislative entities.
