Walking home from work along the highline park. The Hudson River is behind the buildings there. The sunset will be fabulous. I love #NYC

Solar’s price drop is astonishing: panels are now 98% cheaper than when I first analyzed them in 2004.

Today, building a fence with solar can be cheaper than using wood.

Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.

Walking through #Greenwood cemetery today in NYC. Look at this sweet pup! So amazing. They buried the family dog with them. People leave sticks at the gravesite. #DogSky

Zohran mentioned trans people in his acceptance speech last night—specifically wanted trans people to feel welcome and loved.

How amazing is that?

HOW AMAZING IS THAT. How I hope this becomes the norm.

That’s me! That deep blue pocket there.

The gays in Chelsea and Hell‘s kitchen packed the polling stations for #Mamdani ❤️🗽🏳️‍🌈

I'm a total disaster with people. Thankfully, we have lots and lots of forests in this country because in a forest - that's where I'll end up living one day.

RESEARCH: not just green space, but *biodiverse* green space keeps us healthy.

Find these spaces in your city, or make them! NYC actually hands out free native seeds to spread in urban tree wells, and undeveloped lots. 💚
New research reveals simple change cities can make to keep residents healthier: 'We found overwhelming evidence'
Research has shown that increasing biodiversity in cities can improve health in humans.

Trying out #coconut shell bowls today for my packed lunch on the hike (a homemade Buddha bowl). It worked well! Lightweight and strong.

Why, you ask? 🥥🥥🥥🥥🥥🥥🥥

Stainless steel bowls are heavy, #titanium bowls expensive, #aluminum is questionably toxic and I’m removing all #plastics from my life.

Sat for lunch at one of my favorite spots on the back woods trail. #Waterfall and nice flat rock to sit on. The sound is so healing. #Hiking #NewYork

A LEGO #MRI set to help kids though a traumatic medical experience. 😭🥹
I had some early childhood medical trauma that still haunts me today. This would have helped. Kids are strong if we give them tools to understand.

Starting a new #fashion trend: #Carabiner clips for backpack cross straps.

For gearheads. Clip conscious. Makes people think I’m a butch rock climber or a part of Seal Team Antifa, rappelling down buildings and terrorizing ICE thugs. #Grrr

I sat and watched these baby trout(?) for awhile in the pond today.

This might be their birthing pond—the rains will come soon and they’ll be racing downhill toward the larger Ramapo River and Passaic. #Hiking #NewYork

Sat for awhile at this little pond in the stream. There are little baby trout in there—I’ll post another video close up. Like little koi fish. #Hiking #NewYork

Wildlife crossings (also called animal bridges) connect habitats that have been cut off by roads. They allow deer, wild boars, foxes, and many other animals to cross safely – and simultaneously reduce wildlife-related accidents.

Strolling #CentralPark South yesterday and ventured into the Park.

Can you spot the delicious blueberries within easy reach of a curious toddler? Silly you, not blueberries. Native #pokeweed, and they’ll send that kid to the hospital.

Get to know your locals! Birds love these. Humans vomit and—

When times are uncertain I do what my grandmother did—I fill Mason jars. Preserving food to last longer.

Tonight I started a batch of chopped kale and Brussels with garlic, a kickass fermented salsa, and already complete: purple cabbage with thyme. Incredibly healthy, tasty, and they last forever.
