If Russia says it will protect you, it means Russia will do so by attacking you, or sit by and do nothing when someone else does.
A few weeks ago, Russian propagandists bragged how Venezuela is protected by Russia and the United States cannot do anything.

Now, all Russia does is express concerns and condemnations.

If Russia can't participate in international sports, why can the US?

Ban them, and move the World Cup to Canada/Mexico.

The hard part about running a dictatorship is that the past changes so quickly you have no idea what will happen yesterday.
What a difference a year makes.

Polls show that 70% of Americans oppose the war in Venezuela. But at this CBS News staff meeting, that number feels much smaller.

The weirdest thing about Americans is how many of them think their laws apply to every person in the world.
But they're certain other countries' laws don't apply to them.

I went up to the Hill to ask Mike Johnson what he thought of Trump usurping Congress's powers to invade and occupy Venezuela. He said this was the first he was hearing of the invasion and thus he couldn't comment on it.

Every time you think you have an understanding of the depth of Trump's pathos, you find out you're wrong--and it goes deeper.
WH sources say Venezuela's opposition leader committed the "ultimate sin": She accepted the Nobel Peace prize.

“If she had turned it down and said, ‘I can’t accept it because it’s Donald Trump’s,’ she’d be the president of Venezuela today,” one said.
