A neat thing about birthright citizenship is how it tests whether a person cares at all about the Constitution. There's no argument against it, birthright citizenship is the unambitious text, the obvious intent of the drafters, and the undisputed way it was followed for the past 150+ years.
I continue to think that Matty coming out against birthright citizenship a few months ago should have been taken as a major warning sign that the group chats have already decided to surrender on this.

Oh the colors of these clusters of stars...all to grow up and wander off, which I love...but this pale bright orange pink yellow it makes me think of summer time on the east coast and I could eat these dazzling beauties!!
Ok everyone let's get in formation 💃

NSF–DOE Rubin Observatory’s image of the Trifid and Lagoon Nebulae captures several dazzling open star clusters. 🌌💫 These clusters are young, loosely bound families of stars that will eventually drift apart over millions of years. 🔭🧪

We're gonna need a truth and reconciliation commission and Nuremberg style trials to reckon with all of this evil, and any Dem candidate for office who shies away from a full reckoning in the name of "moving forward as a nation" can get well and truly fucked

REDACTING DOCUMENTS TAKES TIME SENATOR MURRAY. Good christ I cannot deal with the intentional fake ignorance and lack of critical thinking in the Democratic Congresspeople that I have helped to elect.
Congress sent a clear message to the White House: Release the Epstein Files.

It should have never taken this long. Why did Trump fight this for months?

Things that will get you kicked out of academia forever:
- taking maternity leave at the wrong time
- spending too much time with your kids
- reporting harassment
- not moving every 2-3 years
- taking a partner's job/preferences into account
- mouthing off before tenure
A guy makes ONE tiny mistake (has a years-long friendship with the world's worst sex trafficker; brags about sexually harassing colleagues; is racist; says women are stupid) and his whole LIFE is blown up (does slightly fewer speaking engagements; keeps teaching at #1 university)??!?!?!?!?!
So Harvard is keeping this guy, but Claudine Gay had to step down over ginned up plagiarism accusations and bad-faith accusations of anti-Semitism.

Got it.

And so many support them. Sometimes without knowing explicitly. Yet with the ability to dismiss so so so effing easily. To say "oh the complainers are problematic" because we are not perfect. Are not great physicists (FORSE!!! WE SHALL SEE!!). Yeah, good gods I have so many issues with my field.
Academia has a problem in elevating terrible people into positions of power. "Sure, this person is a narcissist and sociopath, but they get things done! That's a bargain I'm willing to make."

It is indeed hard to get things done in academia, so I understand the temptation. But it often ends badly.
When former Harvard President Lawrence H. Summers was pursuing a romantic relationship with a woman he described as a mentee, he turned to a longtime associate for guidance: Jeffrey E. Epstein.

I harbor buckets of contempt for Comey, he is revolting. And I agree, I hope he burns as many of the sadistic bootlickers down as he can. He has the connections and money to do it.

A reminder that the Epstein files aren't a distraction from the oligarchy. They're an integral part of it.
A reminder: The perpetrators in the Epstein files are Oligarchs, and so are the ones protecting them.

We deserve a Democratic Party that is willing to fight as hard as we are.

We need new leadership in this moment and to get there, we need a chorus of support for change. Tell your Democratic senators to call on Senator Schumer to step aside as Minority Leader. It’s time for drastic action.
