We condemn the University of Cambridge's attempt to place legal restrictions on all pro-Palestine protests.

Alongside @pscupdates.bsky.social and @libertyhq.bsky.social we call out this application to the High Court for an injunction what it is: a shameful attack on basic democratic rights.

It's Equal Pay Day - from today until the end of the year women will effectively work for free compared to male colleagues.

Equal work should mean equal pay.

Closing the gender, disability and ethnicity pay gaps must be a priority for Government and business.
Today is Equal Pay Day, when women effectively stop being paid compared to their male colleagues.

We would require all large and medium-size companies to carry out equal pay audits and redress any inequality uncovered.

Equal pay for equal work should not be too much to ask.

With farm owners protesting today over the prospect of paying a highly discounted inheritence tax, I'm sure you've seen quotes about how they "feed the nation".

But nobody is talking about the migrant workers who actually pick the crops on horticulture farms, so here's a short thread about them.

This is what we should all be protesting about. A third of children in poverty.

But protesting the requirement to pay inheritance tax gets all the bandwidth & that’s everything wrong with this country right there.
‘More than one in three children in poverty as UK deprivation hits record high’

I’ve long believed if we counted children in poverty, and had the same level of media scrutiny on this as we did quarterly Migration stats, our society would be very different

If you bring central London to a halt in order to campaign against catastrophic climate change then you're a "barmy" eco "fanatic" who deserves to be locked up.

If you do the same to hang on to your multimillion pound inheritance tax exemption then you're a brave freedom fighter defying the odds

We need a completely new approach to local government. Councils are barely staying afloat and making cuts to libraries, youth centres and all sorts of social infrastructure because they struggle to fund social care and SEND provision. Government should directly fund these things.

BlueSky has already started censoring criticism of Israel.

Israel is literally committing genocide. To label criticism of that ‘intolerance’ is obviously absurd — and a mechanism of suppressing opposition to, and therefore emboldening, that genocide.

Do better @bsky.app.
