I think everyone just sort of assumed that Driver was never gonna go near a Star War again. That he was on board and the studio was on board and they had a script and director is unreal. And Bobby killed it because he couldn't imagine someone coming back from the dead in a movie about space wizards.

Bob Iger, a man who had no logistical objections to a movie that doesn't explain how Jeff Bridges came back to life, can't imagine a resurrection story in a series with immaculate conception, bigfoot pilots, and old baby frog puppets.
