A reminder that this entire Trans Panic thing is just another shitty step in a long history of fake panics completely invented by political hacks.

Trans people are very likely not affecting your lives at all and they certainly are not the cause of any problems on a national level. It's BULLSHIT.

Well I guess it's time to wind down fb. I've been shadow banned and had several posts censored pretty much on posting them. I'll still post there because I believe we need fight on many fronts. But me frustration with that platform is increasing.

Watch for things like the Crusades and that imagery and idea (warriors for God) as powerful propagandist tools of Christian nationalism. Portraying the crusader as a tool of justice is a propaganda against the global South, brown, and Indigenous organizing and leadership.

This is a pretty funny story with some solid points to make about kinship across communities, something that is increasingly important

And it is a constant source of amusement to me that the Nanaboozho stories seem to have been written by 12 year old boys what with all the farting and penis waving
A lot of things happen when Nanaboozho decides to run with the wolves. Naturally I'm most interested in why the story says he ran with his penis out.

Nanaboozho, the wolves, and lessons in solidarity.

The decline of survival skills (cooking, craft, sewing, husbandry, any and all relationship to food, water, shelter as primarily aspect of survival) is a programme to deepen and reinforce colonial conquest of Indigeneity. Resurgence of skill is a single facet of remembering our Indigenous roots.

Trumps negotiating of a cease fire had nothing to do with Palestinian liberation or Palestinian lives. It was entirely to double down on the colonial expansion by the state of Israel.

Trump says relocation may be temporary or long-term as he announces lifting of hold on 2,000-pound bombs for Israel.

Strawberries in the middle of winter is a signifier of neocolonialism. The trade war is not a liberation from colonialism but use this to learn what it means to eat seasonal food, an actual Indigenous concept.

What an incredible day. I love talking gardens, food forests, food security, and building great outdoor space. Resilience is found in the work of the land.

Attending PhD defense for @jodikoberinski.bsky.social

What an excellent presentation and defense of her research so far. Jodi, I would love to read your dissertation. Jodi is speaking about Indigenous food systems and sovereignty. Tremendous work.

So the nonsensical part removed and the reconstruction begins. Raised work like this is bas relief sculpture and not always obvious in next step for me yet. But the movement in the work speaks for itself. Beads are fluid in this form. And I love it.

Apparently my dad has been resisting improving the house for his own accessibility because he was sure he was close to death. This breaks my heart so much. My father is so giving, and not realizing that even if he was, my mother wants him to have a good life now.

So I put this down for a few weeks because I needed to think about the sculptural quality of this part. Raised work is cool. I knew i wasn't heading in the right direction but needed time to think about what that direction might be... and also have the heart to pull out a bunch of work

Going to start using this. I do appreciate reading feeds here, I'm enjoying it. I'll have to just start sharing i suppose. I left Twitter ages ago with the rise of some violence and general irritation with the nature of brief text based communication- Rampant with misunderstanding, wanton and not.

I never get to use my fur trade knowledge, so let’s talk about beaver hats. You can’t understand the history of the Americas without them.

Beaver is the best pelt for making hats. It is naturally water resistant and felts well.

But Europeans had hunted beavers to near-extinction.
We don't have anything like The Smithsonian in Canada but we've got a guy who collects beaver hats.
