We all feel the weight, partly because we no have members of Congress looking out for citizens as an independent branch of government. Will we be at war soon with Europe? with Iran? The Constitution envisions a separation of powers to ensure against tyranny, but one branch has surrendered its role.

We all feel the weight, partly because we no have members of Congress looking out for citizens as an independent branch of government. Will we be at war soon with Europe? with Iran? The Constitution envisions a separation of powers to ensure against tyranny, but one branch has surrendered its role.

It is impossible to overstate the degree to which the entire national political media's coverage of the 2024 presidential campaign, especially once Harris won the nomination, was deeply, fundamentally, shamefully unserious about the stakes & the candidates.
I can still recall all the tut-tutting from the media when Harris made this argument.

I don’t think I’ve ever loved anything as much as ICE loves violently attacking women.
I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

The sheer cruelty with which ICE officers operate on a daily basis—these masked officers have gone out of their way to NOT be IDed as law enforcement—demonstrate it is an organization that cannot be allowed to exist in a democracy.

At least for me, any candidate in the Dem primary who doesn’t pledge to immediately return the WH and the grounds to the way it was before Trump turned it into Mar-a-Lago on the Potomac is automatically disqualified. The massive ballroom, garish gold plated foil, all of it gone.
