Not the comedian! Civic educator, lover of Constitutional History, might have known me as Silas on the other site. Long suffering Philly sports fan. Currently working on James Wilson scholarship. MA degree, and fighting off the urge to get a Ph.D.

December 15: the anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights, signed by Frederick Muhlenberg as Speaker of the House of Representatives

In 2026, Muhlenberg’s home will open to the public in Trappe, PA, after being saved from demolition and thoughtfully restored over the last 25 years

Hands down, one of my favorite artifacts I would use on my tour when I was an educator at the National Constitution Center.
This printed version of the Emancipation Proclamation was one of 48 hand-signed by Abraham Lincoln in 1864 and sold for $10 each to raise money as part of the Great Central Sanitary Fair in Philadelphia.

It is expected to sell for between $3-5 million at the Jan. 23 Christie's auction.
A print of the Emancipation Proclamation signed by Lincoln with deep Philly ties will be auctioned by Christie’s
The authorized edition of the historical text is part of Christie's upcoming "We the People: America at 250" auction, which also includes an early draft of the U.S. Constitution.

I didn't think the Flyers were really all in on Quinn Hughes, but no way were they going to beat this trade package.

That is a TON given up by the Minnesota Wild.
So the Quinn Hughes to Philly dream is dead (for now I guess). It's Minnesota that gets him, with Marco Rossi, Zeev Buium, Liam Ohgren and a 2026 1st as the pieces.

Does anyone know if the Originalism Blog found a new server home yet? I haven't seen anything.
The old website for Legal Theory Blog is no longer available. New posts and the archive can now be found at https:https://legaltheoryblog.com/. BlueSky links will be posted simultaneously with posting on the new blog site.
