Enshittification: when the ‘play’ button in your kids game is translated to ‘toneelstuk’ (a theatre play) because no one could be bothered to have more than machine generated translations.

It’s all slop all day in the next few years.

Tommy Robinson and his far right goons are holding a carol service to honour the birth of a displaced Middle Eastern refugee who started a religion that explicitly emphasized a belief in universal love, peace and tolerance over earthly nations and division.

Totally untrue garbage from @thetimes.com & @dailymail.co.uk today - smear dressed up as journalism. Some facts:
- There is no “£900 desk”
- my constituency office has Ikea desks/chairs
- we significantly underspent the new MPs allowance to set up an office
www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...
Treasury minister leading budget plans spent £900 on desk
Torsten Bell, who is working with Rachel Reeves to fill a £30 billion hole in finances, also used his parliamentary expenses to claim £600 for three chairs

It’s worth stating this simply: For literally anyone in the US Govt from 1945 to 2025, Signalgate would require an instant resignation—and a criminal investigation. It would be a matter of personal *honor* to resign. The fact Mike Waltz & Pete Hegseth are choosing to fight it out is a terrible omen.

This satirical post seems to have caught the mood overnight, with heavy likes, and with many seeing it as all too plausible.

One worry is that it will now become an urban myth and believed to be true.

A greater worry, which cannot easily be dismissed, is that it is actually true.
Perhaps the top person at The Atlantic was added to the Signal chat because those on the chat believed there was a person in charge of the Atlantic.

I wish I had the bike lanes that bike lane haters think I have
It’s amazing how critics perceive bike lanes to be “everywhere” and “out of control” even when a large majority of roads don’t have bike lanes.

You can imagine my crushing disappointment when this piece failed to include any specific examples of *how* our precious Brexit freedoms have been squandered. Not even anything about how we could have avoided the move to USB-C cables.

I am a climate scientist and this is correct ⬇️
Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.

Gisele Pelicot should named as the Time person of the year. For bravely waiving her anonymity in one of the most horrific rape cases the world has seen, to take a stand for survivors and shame the perpetrators.

Instead they’re featuring Trump, a rapist, for the second time. Obviously.

I think this is what one reason why so many wealthy men are currently trying to burn the world to the ground - that the only authentic reaction that a lot of them can receive is rage. They can pay for the simulation of everything else, and they’re doing it, and it still makes them unhappy.
I’ve been thinking about Epstein’s islands and why they were so popular among wealthy men: not for the privacy they offered, but for the illusion that the women trafficked to these islands genuinely desired them. I wonder if, beneath all that entitlement, there was a resentment that it wasn’t real.
