I missed this story from last week, about how Kojima started making some stuff in Death Stranding 2 weirder and more hostile to the player because it was "too good", and I really regret not seeing it because he's literally 100% correct
!["There’s a key moment where we had a discussion, probably halfway [through] when we were doing the game, where he came to me and he said, 'We have a problem,'" Woodkid explained.
"Then he said, 'I’m going to be very honest, we have been testing the game with players and the results are too good. They like it too much. That means something is wrong; we have to change something.' And he changed stuff in the script and the way some crucial stuff [happens] in the game because he thought his work was not polarizing and not triggering enough emotions."
According to Kojima, "If everyone likes [your work], it means it’s mainstream. It means it’s conventional. It means it’s already pre-digested for people to like it."

Not been well this week & have been thinking about my value as a disabled (autism+ADHD+PMDD) human & been comparing myself to others (never good). When I feel low I make miniature posies. I’ve been mocked for them before but they lift my mood-I hope this one lifts yours. Maybe a small life is ok…

Asking all artists! How helpful is learning traditional/classical art/realism in improving art skills if my style is more cartoonish?
I know that learning the fundamentals definitely helps, but on the other hand I don't know if my skills are past the basics yet, do I start with a beginner class?

Man I really really want to work alongside creative people, but I have no idea what I could do as a software dev outside of the gaming industry. I'm also not skilled enough to be a freelancer. Seeing art designs makes me a lot more excited than seeing code.
