i owe so many video game designers an apology

I hope people get violently angry about what happened to Johnathon Joss. On the first day of Pride he was shot and killed by homophobes who burned down his house and killed his pets. They were openly bigoted towards him and the police didn't do anything to protect him even after facing violence.

one thing i keep thinking about is how there is simply no way to design a constitutional system that can resist authoritarian incursion if participants in that system do not actually care that much

ideally these billionaires who are recently leaning into flaunting their wealth and power learn sooner rather than later why their kind have historically taken to remote mansions obscured by trees and mountains
