Multiple independent studies show Trump caused *at least* 100,000 needless deaths.
Imagine pretending to believe - as Musk, Ackman etc are - that the Newsom/Bass response to the LA wildfires is worse than the Trump response to the pandemic. Studies suggest *tens of thousands* of Americans died needlessly as a result of Trump’s monumental mishandling of COVID.

Self-styled climate “centrists” deflecting attention from the PRIMARY underlying contributor to these disasters (fossil fuel burning and human-caused warming) is a free gift to polluters and petrostates

The peer-reviewed science shows that the primary factor behind the increase in wildfire extent in the western U.S. is increased aridity and fuel load due to human-caused warming.

Thank you, from someone who knows deeply the challenges of treating cancer. Bullshit doesn’t belong in the same galaxy as people with cancer.

The upside of Trump’s taunting Canada is that we’ll get more news clips of actual leaders pushing back on him instead of our steady diet of “Chris Coons thinks this idea has merit”
Canadian MP Charlie Angus on California: We have fire crews in the danger zones. The Canadian military is now on full alert to help. That’s what we do—we help our neighbors in times of crisis.

The fact that Trump isn’t there.. is shocking but this is what criminal grifters do.

@yanisvaroufakis.bsky.social explains compellingly and usefully in Technofeudalism how the rule of capital has changed over the decades and centuries. It’s at its worst now, albeit with a (thin) silver lining. Fantastic book.
I fear there is deep truth here.

Too often judges fall back to legal theories of no practical import. Textualism, originalism and living constitutionalism are irrelevant labels to everyday Americans. Courts must ensure the Constitution remains a broad shield protecting individual liberty and not become democracy’s suicide pact.
