And, when the rain comes, you get mudslides because the ground is less stable until the trees regrow.

We will feel the instability resulting from these cuts for years to come as new threats arise (disease outbreaks, hurricanes, fires), which will be amplified without infrasture to respond.
If you burn down a forest, you don't miss out on lumber for just that season. You have to replant all the trees, nurture them, and wait for them to grow.

The science and research budget cuts happening now are wanton, senseless arson. Recovery, if it ever happens, will take generations.

This is incredibly cool: if you search for a condition that’s affected your family, the site returns stats on how much NIH has done for that disease, *and* a contact form for reaching out to tell your Members of Congress why you want to see them defend NIH.

Pass it on!

This is heartbreaking. I just had my first NIH/NCCIH grant scored under a HEAL Initiative RFA to reduce chronic pain and opioids. Very sad to see NCCIH eliminated, especially with its focus on whole person care, well-being, and nonpharmacological interventions to improve health.
🏥HHS ELIMINATIONS💀
We have created a list of all agency and program eliminations proposed in the HHS 2026 Budget.

Feds: Please let us know if you have any clarity to share.

The cuts are massive. Reach out if you would like a PDF or xlsx

PubMed has been down since yesterday.

It's the largest database of biomedical literature in the world with 37M citations.

If this is a result of Trump's NIH funding freeze, it's extremely bad news for scientific community not just in the US but across the world.

A few years ago, I went through a very hard time w/ a colleague. I listened to lots of music to drown out the distress, turning it into productivity. Worked 14hr days, drafted 5 papers, finished my doctoral research. Turning to music again now to drown out the noise, to get my work done for Veterans
