It's no longer left versus right or even Democrat versus Republican.

It’s now democracy versus oligarchy. Freedom versus dictatorship. Right versus wrong.

Millions hit the streets this weekend in solidarity with each other and to affirm the foundations of the common good.

This is not about the merits of Iran’s nuclear program. No president has the authority to bomb another country that does not pose an imminent threat to the US without the approval of Congress. This is an unambiguous impeachable offense.

By launching a war unprovoked without Congressional approval, Trump has violated the Constitution. He is taking us to war without the support or approval of the American people, and after promising voters he would not.

Illegal. Undemocratic. Unconstitutional. Dangerous.

Congress must act.

I'm gutted and furious that the Iranian people will be injured, harmed and killed as a result of this absolutely depraved act of violence. What a complete travesty on every single level.

A manuscript thread for birders in particular! Last year I wrote a post showcasing all the beautiful illuminated #birds in @bodleianlibraries.bsky.social MS Bodl.264, but there were many I couldn't identify. Maybe a group effort can help fill the gaps? 🧵

This professor studies dictatorships. He helped convince Harvard to stand up to Trump
Harvard professor Steve Levitsky has spent decades studying democracies and how they fail. He's now raising alarm bells over what he sees as a slide toward autocracy under President Trump.
