I'm reading this innocent item in an October 1944 paper; my grandmother playing bridge with friends, one of whom I remember. But I know the heartbreak that is coming. In 5 months, Grandma's baby brother, L/Cpl Lawrence Nimmo Dean will be KIA in Nijmegan, Holland.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.
