I just read the latest Ryan Lizza drop aloud to the wife and we are both completely horrified and deeply invested.

It's worse than lurid fanfic writing from the early aughts web rings where every chapter ends with someone being knocked unconscious, but I need it in my veins.

Tomorrow, begins my annual tamale making ritual.

It's a two day affair.

A truth act of Catholic devotion.

I haven't made this many before, so I have no idea if I got the right proportions of anything.

But I do know, that my house is about to smell *amazing*.

speaking as a virginia beach native if these kind of dudes are plotting against ICE then there is wide runway in public opinion for straight up abolishing the agency under a dem presidency

Cozy autistic alert:

Three full seasons of Antiques Roadshow are on Netflix.

They open in Alaska.

It's so lush and green and quiet.

One of the assessors talks about seeing a bear.

+5 Stars.

The Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas and nooses as hate symbols.

This action, coupled with the President's call to hang Democratic members of Congress - both in the past few hrs - are more than "potentially divisive."

They are vile, unconscionable, and dangerous.

Wow. Real tragic loser behavior.
SCOOP — A former staffer for Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), Natalie Green, 26, was charged today for falsely reporting she was attacked by 3 men who wrote "TRUMP WHORE" on her stomach bc of her job. It was staged by her + a friend.

Van Drew isn't named in the complaint but I've confirmed w/ his office.

Look at Congress, behaving like a whole ass branch of government.

Good for them.
Breaking: The House voted unanimously, 426-0, to strip a provision in the funding bill that allowed senators to sue the government for $500K if their phone data was searched without their knowledge.

The provision was designed for GOP senators to sue over the Jack Smith investigation.

Man, "going on attack".

Good luck with that.

Toss Stacey Plackett out with the rest of 'em. Make the DNC return the $32k.

All of them should be held to account.

EVERY. ONE.
Donald Trump doesn't want to release the Epstein files because he's in the files.

Trump is in the files because he was "best friends" with Epstein for years.

He was "best friends" with Epstein for years because they were abusing women and girls together.

His attacks won't change any of that.

The White House is frustrated about being backed into a corner on the Epstein vote. They plan to punish Democrats for it.

Another key take away:

You should always, absolutely always, take people talking about doing serious things seriously, even if they're total chuckle fucks otherwise.

If a clown car starts planning to invade Austria, treat it serious as a heart attack.

Don't be Neville Chamberlain.
The most horrifying lesson of the rise of the Nazis to me so far:

- How quickly the violence ramps up
- How willing every day people are with horrifying violence and vitriol if they themselves are protected or cared for
- How unwilling those same people are to believe the worst is happening
Watching this documentary on the Nuremberg trials and my head is spinning with parallels so frequently, I have to pause and yell every 10 minutes.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Molotov insults the Germans while in Berlin, cause the Nazis are so used to lying to people's faces, they don't really know how to deal with reality anymore.

"We're on the verge of winning the war against Britain," Ribbentrop said.

"Then why are we in this bunker?"
Neville Chamberlain's useless ass is here and I'm already so god damned angry.

GOOD NEWS: @ramirez.house.gov will be working with @sanders.senate.gov to introduce the Pensions for All Act.

The bill requires corporations to provide traditional pension plans for their workers or pay into the federal retirement system to ensure all workers receive retirement benefits.

Environmentalism *is* a form of material prosperity.

People prize access to clean air, clean water, and access to nature both, every day (local parks) and spectacular (Yosemite et all).

They often pay for it, and handsomely, when given the opportunity.

It's essentially a material experience.
Oh, I don’t know. Our rivers no longer catch on fire and our air is far less poisonous than it used to be, even in smog bowls like Los Angeles. And I think those are good things.
If there’s no shale gas then there’s no shale gas, but I still think environmentalism is basically bad and politicians should focus more on material prosperity.
