Not my usual bag but have a royal bird in royal park for #SwanDay 🦢
A single white swan glides gracefully across calm, bluish-grey water. Its body is angled slightly away, with wings gently lifted and layered feathers fanned out in soft, ruffled curves. Having recently gone through this process, this is bang on the money. Like, I understand that the process has to make sure everything is done legally and properly, but the emotional stress is huge

When one of your parents die, the grief is bad enough but this is compounded by how awful our probate & power of attorney processed are. It's like, we know this is bad for you but we're now going to pile on the pressure, confusion and bureaucracy to see if you can take it.

Our picture captures a dramatic early-evening sky, where deep teal-blue gradually fades toward the warm glow of a setting sun. Our picture shows a peaceful riverside landscape washed entirely in warm golden light, as if the world has been dipped in molten amber. The sun hangs high in the sky,large, bright, and glowing intensely, casting a sweeping golden hue across everything below. Its reflection shimmers perfectly on the still water, creating a second glowing orb on the rivers surface. In the center distance, tall leafless trees stand like dark silhouettes against the brilliant sky. A lone bird, likely an egret, is wading quietly in the shallow water. The river is calm, with only gentle ripples and scattered twigs breaking its surface. Bushes and small trees frame the water on both sides, their branches appearing almost black against the overwhelming golden brightness. In the far distance to the left, the faint outline of a small tower or steeple rises above the treeline. The entire scene feels tranquil, dreamlike, and almost otherworldly. Bathed in the deep, warm glow of a fading day. And finally, our picture is finished with a simple, white border fame. And now for my poem inspired by this shot.. I call it… “Where the Golden Quiet Falls” Beneath a sun that melts the sky Into a bowl of burnished gold, A silent river reflects the light, A story waiting to be told. A lone bird stands, the world held still, Its shadow drifting at its feet; The trees, like watchmen carved from dusk, Stand guard where earth and heaven meet. No breeze to stir the woven calm, No sound but water’s gentle call; Here time slows down, and hearts grow soft Where evening’s golden quiet falls. And in this hush, the day exhales, A final breath, so warm and deep, A promise whispered to the night: Some beauty never goes to sleep.
