A thing I feel that not enough people know about is that the US last year produced more oil and gas than any country in the history of oil and gas and of countries. We will break that record this year.

Here I am, worrying about my perceived professionalism by constantly rephrasing my emails and triple checking the recipient list…

I should be celebrating the fact that I’ve never accidentally sent sensitive documents to the press in a group chat.

I don't remember the last time a book made me cry. The end of chapter 12 of Project Hail Mary, by @andyweirauthor1.bsky.social, just changed that. Not even halfway through it and it's one of the most amazing things I've ever read.

Back on January 28 a Redditor downloaded a massive cache of CDC datasets (they say it's all the public datasets but I've not verified that). Over the weekend, they uploaded everything they had to Internet Archive: archive.org/details/2025...

If you use CDC data and need access, go here first.

I broke up with my partner today and watched (500) Days of Summer right after it happened. It's fascinating to see how the loss of affection in a couple is universal, the same signs and gestures happen. Waiting for Spring (Autumn).
