The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

Someone once said NextDoor is the social network for dogs if they could type. It’s always “what’s that noise?” and “who’s that stranger?” which is exactly what I imagine my dogs would text other neighborhood dogs.

We are in this current nightmare in part because too many members of the media were more interested in access than seeking the truth.
It’s outrageous that Trump is blocking the Associated Press from White House events. But there’s an upside if the press becomes less dependent on what politicians dole out. After all, journalism shouldn’t look like feeding time at the aquarium.
My free Stop the Presses newsletter.
Can political media break the addiction to access?
Trump’s ban on AP could be an opportunity for greater independence.

Stating the obvious: one big reason Donald's maniacal actions seem so psychotic is because he's reacting to pervasive MAGAsphere myths: invasion at the border, children being mutilated, vaccines are toxic, climate crisis is a hoax, government is the problem etc. His agenda is a reaction to fantasy.

Notice how Elon Musk is prioritizing the government withholding money from researching pediatric cancer instead of paying for his exploding rockets?

Not a failing of humanity, decency, or a conflict of interest at all.

You say: they shutdown USAID.

You mean: they illegally broke in to a secure facility over a weekend, hijacked sensitive data on vulnerable people and US businesses, destroyed property Americans paid for, cut off resources for sick and hungry families, and fired Americans across the country.

FYI, this is straight-up eugenics. There were lots of programs like this proposed in the 1930s that offered incentives and rewards to “good” (i.e. white and economically advantaged) communities to promote population growth among those groups and suppress it in others deemed less desirable.
NEW: Yesterday, the Department of Transportation issued a memo that says DOT and DOT-supported programs should "give preference to communities with marriage and birth rates higher than the national average." www.transportation.gov/sites/dot.go...

Elon Musk didn't come to the US on a H1B visa. He came on a J-1 student visa, failed to get a work visa, and worked in the country illegally. He claims to have later gotten a H1B visa without providing any proof.

Like Melania Trump, he used money to make his history of illegal immigration go away.

There are many critical changes needed for how we elect our leaders. Getting rid of the Electoral College is high among them.
California, a state of nearly 40,000,000 people, has the same amount of representation in the United States Senate as Wyoming, a state of less than 600,000 people.

This is the direct result of a deal struck between slave states and free states in the 1700s.

It’s time for that to change.
