One of the great heartbreaks of being in the disability community is how often we lose people and how many of our most powerful voices have gone silent. We must live our lives loudly and joyously in their honor and remember that our very existence is resistance.
Oh no I just heard we lost Alice. This is terribly sad. She was an incredible, talented, powerful voice of the disability community. She stood strong for herself and for all of us. She will be missed immensely.
‘Death remains my intimate shadow partner. It has been with me since birth, always hovering close by. I understand one day we will finally waltz together into the ether. I hope when that time comes, I die with the satisfaction of a life well-lived, unapologetic, joyful, & full of love.’

In case you need to hear it: You do not have to go look at the Epstein files.
You don’t have to read the articles. Mute whatever names and words are necessary to keep yourself safe. You don’t have to traumatize yourself (or re-traumatize yourself) to stay on top of the news.

Her prose is beautiful, her worldbuilding exquisite, her characters fascinating

The only thing that sucks about making art or writing for me is trying to get people to pay me for it. Every other bit makes me deliriously happy to do even when it’s a challenge. (Sometimes because it’s a challenge! Challenges are fun when they’re stuff I like to do!)

For absolutely no reason I'd like to re-share this little thread from @seananmcguire.bsky.social about GOD'S JUNK DRAWER.

Which--if I hadn't mentioned it--is out next week!
It is rare, in the course of my profession, for me to encounter books which make me actively angry with their authors for thinking of them before I could. And that anger never lasts to the end of the book, because ideas are cheap: execution is what matters. My execution would not be theirs.

God, a thousand times this.

That's the thing with dopamine being tied to task initiation - there's a set of gears that won't - CAN'T - engage in my brain, but none of my problems are with analysis.

I can be fully aware of all the necessary steps, and stressing about starting, and just... not.
