“By the end of the year, Delta plans for 20% of its ticket prices to be individually determined using AI, president Glen Hauenstein told investors last week.”

“Over time, the goal is to do away with static pricing altogether…”
Delta moves toward eliminating set prices in favor of AI that determines how much you personally will pay for a ticket
The airline touted a partnership with an AI-enabled revenue system as a step on the road to fully personalized ticket pricing, part of its goal to raise profit margins long-term.

I'm truly exhausted by tech. I don't want to keep up with all of the digisec stuff, the AI stuff, etc. etc. Put your stuff on a platform and they decide to shut down. Send your large files to someone and the company decides to usurp your ownership of your own work. It's just exhausting.

Newsletter: It's time for a radical new approach to tech CEOs: mocking them, because they talk like idiots and provide little value to society outside of their dedication to shareholder value. They sound stupid, they do nothing, and it's time to fight back.

We continue to live in a society that ignores the greatest dangers to children (cars, guns, environmental toxins) while looking for someone to blame when they die.

My thoughts go out to Jessica Ivey and Samuele Jenkins. Letting your 10 yr. old and 7 yr. old children walk home is not a crime!
Samuele Jenkins and his wife Jessica Ivey sit in jail grieving their 7-year-old son, Legend, who was hit by a car and killed on May 27.

They're charged with involuntary manslaughter and child abuse for allegedly letting Legend and his 10-year-old brother walk two blocks alone.

The effort the dems are putting in to block Mamdani and get a sex pest elected instead is truly disgusting. Cuomo was a bad politician who killed people and wasted public funds and enriched his cronies but these people really will go to any length to tear down a brown democratic socialist.

“In almost every single case, the reason was anti-trans discrimination in the form of pressure to ‘detransition’ from one’s family, friends, or community,” the survey found.

The idea that the progressive left used the internet to bully institutions into accepting unpopular, far-left positions is the exact opposite of what has actually happened. The alt-right used the internet for ideological capture and they are now in the White House bragging about it daily

You cannot play director or choreographer for moments of organic mobilization. I'm sorry, but even someone who understands the dynamics of what's happening (which many of you clearly don't) cannot do that. This is raw political will. You cannot direct that energy from behind a fucking screen.

It's frustrating because there were real mistakes during the pandemic! But you're not allowed to have adult conversations led by scientists in this country. You need to start with the premise that "extremists on both sides got things wrong" and work backwards.
The credulity that The Daily and other mainstream media organizations are giving COVID revisionists is simply astounding. There are plenty of experts who would be happy (ok, maybe not happy, but willing) to provide evidence-based rebuttals, but they don't get this platforming 🤦
This book is *psychotic*. Revisionist, fact-free propaganda from the very first page. I know I shouldn’t be at this point, but it’s shocking that the authors were featured on The Daily

"These people are all petulant, vindictive idiots who actively harm everyone around them and should be nowhere near power" is a hypothesis that explains both the micro and macro dynamics here.
HOW DOES THIS NOT MATTER? The forces at work here are precisely the forces gutting healthcare and passing tariffs and fucking over millions of Americans.

Treating it like an inconsequential blip *creates* the situation where it falls out of the news cycle and doesn't inform voters.

It’s not that. We are sickened that Trump gets a pass for the same/worse. So, happy to talk about Biden, but after we are done with Trump.

Corruption requires explict quid pro quo. It is not corrupt to take an action that aligns with the interest of a person who gives you a gift, unless the official action was in direct response to that gift--a bribe. Terms matter. Accuracy and fairness matters. Regardless of what social media wants.
