MIL told me a couple days ago that it’s “not authentic jambalaya” if it doesn’t have okra in it. I’m by no means an expert on Cajun and Creole cuisine, but I have never heard something so incorrect in my life. Had to google it to make sure I wasn’t crazy. Biting my tongue is hard y’all 😔

Found an old anonymous tumblr from when I was 16 where I basically vented about struggling with my gender identity and not having any support in my personal life and begging someone to tell me that what I was feeling was OK and there wasn’t something wrong with me. It got no notes. How depressing :/
