Yeah, Pride month is done. But if you're still looking to make a difference, this set of camp classes is donating 50% of the first two enrollments, and 100% after that, to help a trans person stay safely in Canada.

The world is on fire, and all I can do is disassociate. Anything else is too much, and I'll spiral out, and I can't afford to do that. @_@

Can confirm. I had an ongoing turf war with some Info wars asshole who kept plastering shit around here. Everytime I saw one I'd take it down, they tried getting creative & putting it 9+ feet up but I'd find a way

Thanks to a handy knife & some patience removed every single one. Give em no quarter

Definitely missing long form blogging. I liked being able to put multiple connected thought out into the world and engage with people in them - as well as on their thoughts - without having to worry about running afoul of a character limit. It feels like something has been lost in giving that up. :/

I have a to-do list longer than my arm. I'm busy trying to be everything for everyone. I know how this ends (hint, it's never good), but I always end up here. Too many things get forgotten if I'm not the one handling them, and I can't afford for them to be forgotten about.

There are times I miss LiveJournal. But I wouldn't have the time or energy to keep up there, either. I'm hoping to shake out of this funk soon.

I spent today being the community. I'm good with that. I am wretchedly exhausted, but today I did good.

I wish I had more to say, but I'm alive. I'm tired AF, broke, both pups need surgeries, kiddo needs dental work, and I'm still only one person. "Burnt out" is an understatement so large as to be disgusting. @_@

I read today (I don't remember where) that 45's approval ratings are tanking, *hard*, but Democrats are tanking harder. Leads me to wonder what's next? If R is full-blown fascist and D is useless, what happens in the next set of elections (provided they happen)?

I've binged my way into S3 of Heartstopper, and I'm at a point where I really love the turns taken with Isaac and Darcy. And Darcy's grandma, who is played by a woman I've seen in at least two other roles, but can't remember her name. XD

My mind is racing. I'm exhausted but can't sleep. I'm knitting, crocheting and watching Heartstopper. I need to call home, but can't deal with the utter disregard for how 'politics' impacts daily life. My thoughts are zinging in my head like squirrels on meth. I can't sleep, but I need to.

I sat down tonight after a challenging day (that was MUCH less challenging for me than others) to watch Bluey and crochet. I got about 10m done when I looked over to my right to see this. XD Damned fool. XD

I'm sinking into Bridgerton. My geek heart is happy to see G'raha Tia doing so very well, and I'm getting my knitting *and* crocheting projects done, so... Win? At least it keeps my mind off the hellscape that is reality.

NEW - Texas Rep. Tom Oliverson has filed HB 3817, which would make it fraud to identify as a gender different from the one assigned at birth.

While it stands little chance of passing, it fits into a wider narrative that casts being trans as deceptive and fraudulent:

Proposed law could charge transgender Texans with fraud
Under HB 3817, Texans could be charged with "gender identity fraud" for identifying as a sex different from the one they were assigned at birth.

PSA: Trans Americans! Do not try to seek Asylum in Canada yet!

To seek asylum you must prove you (as an individual, not a member of trans group) are in *immediate danger*

If you get turned away claiming asylum you will not be allowed to re-apply!

So hang tight until rules get updated.

When I'm awake at 3am and trying to sleep, but failing... That's when my brain feeds me bizarre thoughts. Tonight's question? "I wonder if there's anything I could do to, in theory, earn money just by existing as myself."

The fact that this is precisely what my gaming classes are hasn't eluded me.

This is a really illuminating piece that tackles the philosophical underpinnings of gender-conservatism clearly and succinctly. Ana's very good at laying out the worldview behind sex-essentialism and getting at the motivations behind the propaganda and rhetoric.
A defense of the claim that the anti-abortion and anti-trans movements are two sides of the same coin, going into issues like shared propaganda styles and the underlying metaphysics that essentializes gendered social hierarchy as a natural state of affairs. lysistrata327.substack.com/p/against-th...

No they don’t. Canada and Mexico want none of this. They want the president of the United States to respect and abide by the trade treaty he negotiated with them - and not make up bogus pretexts for plunging us all into a gratuitous no win economic debacle.

My mother says to me, after telling her the surface-most of my concerns, "I'm sure everything will work out."

The sheer privilege in just that single statement is immense. I can't even fathom *having* that level of blind optimism right now.
