Today's meeting of NATO nations (without Trump or the USA) was a major statement that NATO is not about to kiss the ring of Putin nor the ass of Trump.

At the same time, Macron and Starmer were dispatched to the White House to present Trump with a NATO plan for Ukrainian-Russian peace.

Everything known is gone;

All that remains

In the Soviet Bloc, the Communist Party assigned political minders/ commissars to every school, factory, army unit, etc to ensure ideological compliance and loyalty to the regime. Hiring was based on class background and demonstrated loyalty.

Obviously, this is very different.
This new EO signed today appears to create DOGE as a shadow government across the entire federal government. Each agency/dept will be assigned a DOGE minder who will work with the Secry or Director and essentially be in charge of all new hiring and/or firing. People have been saying the Elon is ...

Musk makes sweeping claims about federal corruption, without providing evidence.
The billionaire, whose federal cost-cutting team has been operating in secrecy, asserted that he had uncovered waste and fraud across the bureaucracy, without providing evidence.

... and sometimes science improves our understanding, solves problems, improves economies and saves lives!

.... but then it's neither "crypto" or "klepto".
For every dollar of federal research funding in the United States, universities generate between $2.30 and $3.00 of economy activity, much of that in local communities.

That doesn’t even include the return on investment of getting a college or graduate degree, which research also dollars support.

The four charts that lead me to believe the economy continues to slow in a concerning way:

1) the average workweek is very low
2) manufacturing job growth is negative and is worsening
3) the hires rate remains early 2010’s sluggish
4) the largest publicly-traded homebuilder stock is cratering
