Interesting case of accused data manipulation in scientific papers 🧪
Super bizarre:

Francesca Gino who has been shown to have tampered with data has filed a $25 million defamation lawsuit against Harvard University (who showed in internal report she committed fraud) and Data Colada bloggers.

Updated Atlantic story on Gino:
An Unsettling Hint at How Much Fraud Could Exist in Science
Two experts on dishonesty are separately accused of tampering with data for the same research paper. Has this ever happened before?

New Alt-Text features in the Post Composer appear to have had a massive impact on the frequency of Alt-Text usage in images. The use of Alt-Text has nearly doubled.

A week ago ~13.3% of images uploaded included Alt-Text.

It has been a rough day. It’s easy to give into despair and feel defeated. And it’s in these moments when I need joy the most.

My smallest act of defiance is to gift myself a moment to lose myself to joy.

Nothing helps me more than music.

This piece, to me, feels like happiness persevering!

This! Especially looking at you, fellow scientists and healthcare professionals. We need to be doing much less gatekeeping, and far more listening to and amplifying the people who are most impacted.

The human spirit can be incredibly resilient. We can create joy and awe in moments of terror and pain.

So many moments like that in early pandemic: places where we stepped up and surprised each other. Places where we let each other down, too.

Trying to remember this in this phase of COVID too.
