On a journey to find joy in the most random, obvious, and unexpected places!
PhD and Academic folks have made it! Have you looked at the What’s Science feed?

Indeed! For a while I was exclusively powered by rage and spite - and now I’m working on cultivating new habits!

And also, yes. My new environment is exceptionally good - even in its flaws!

LOL

I feel like I finished my PhD in my program out of spite since they made it abundantly clear they did not love I was there

Agreed… I consistently use the word “surreal” to describe just how much my life has changed… I used to be so active, and now I need help showering… surreal…

I’m so sorry that all this happened, and while we can’t undo the past, we can make new connections in the present.

Sending you strength!

Also, a picture of bubbles in the hope it makes today a little more bearable.

For good or ill, the primary way society currently creates value is through business & by coming together in organizations.

Scholars have a responsibility to understand the what, how, and why of people and organizations & people in organizations for the good of the world. We must do better.

We already know how fraud can be mitigated & prevented. We know the system is broken. We know current incentives yield incremental, unimaginative, and unreproducible findings.

Can we finally make systemic changes?

Will we continue to lionize the few & privileged - unscrutinized for decades?

As of right now, it is unclear if the fraud is limited to 4 papers or if it spans Gino’s entire scholarship (which has close to 33,000 citations according to Google Scholar).

Regardless, a day of reckoning has arrived for organizational behavior and management as a field:
