The last time troops policed America was in the 1770s.

We fought a revolution against that king, and wrote into the Constitution the Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Amendments to prevent it from ever happening again.

Pass it along…

Since recording this episode, I actually found an updated version of this study, concluding that actually the return on investment in reducing child poverty with unconditional income is 15:1, not 10:1. So, new research shows it's even dumber not to do a basic income for kids.
Child poverty costs us over $1 trillion a year and #UBI for kids would save us 10x more than it cost

The Texas Democrats who didn't fight back and allowed the redistricting, aiming to erode democracy for all of the United States.

Texans were betrayed and It passes on to the nation.

These two should be held accountable for what they've done.
Sen. Judith Zaffirini and state Sen. Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa according to the article.

So, just to clarify, the choice for homeless people is concentration camps or prison, where the cost of either one is around $4,000-$10,000 a month. Meanwhile, a $500/mo basic income in SF reduced homelessness by two-thirds.

It should be considered cruel and unusual to not do Universal Basic Income

The root cause of the gerrymandering wars is politicians can pick winners & losers by drawing a line on a map.

The solution? Multi-member districts, #RankedChoiceVoting, & #ProportionalRepresentation.

Do you get excited to vote in a gerrymandered district where the candidate has already chosen his voters and where, post election, the winner will be rewarded for political infighting rather than problem solving, all while spending more time fundraising anything else?

Neither do we. Time for change

Texans deserve better leadership!
New: In the past five years, Ken Paxton has grown increasingly reliant on pricey private lawyers to argue cases on behalf of the state, rather than the hundreds of attorneys who work within his office, an investigation by The Texas Tribune and ProPublica found.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is handing more of his office’s work to costly private lawyers
Despite having an office with hundreds of attorneys, Ken Paxton frequently opts to hire private lawyers. One cost taxpayers more than $24,000 in one day.

I want candidates who promise justice.

Revenge? Is personal.

Justice? Is for all.

It's in the freaking Preamble, and the pledge. It's the basis of the Constitution, an admittedly fallible doc but one which entrenches means to its own amendment, and which has withstood 27 so far.

I want justice.
