Americans are relearning the lesson we learned during the Gilded Age of the late 1890s, when robber barons ran the government and the economy for their own benefit: Oligarchy is incompatible with the common good.

I'm hopeful we'll respond with a new progressive movement.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

Wow.

Orange fiend personally visited Western North Carolina and promised help, now blocks aid.

The area is still reeling from Tropical Storm Helene, which hit the NC mountains with up to 106 mph winds, catastrophic flooding, and landslides.

Entire towns were swept away and 107 people died.

Preach on, Brother Booker!

Cory Booker is now in his *third hour* on the Senate floor—still speaking with heart, fire, and fierce conviction.
He’s not just holding the floor—he’s holding the line for democracy.
This is what moral courage looks like.
Keep going, Senator.
We see you.
We stand with you.✊🏽💙

This is *extremely* alarming — White House fires a career federal prosecutor because he (1) went after a politically connected businessman and (2) criticized Trump during a 2020 congressional bid.

“White House fires a career prosecutor” is itself unprecedented.

Who derives joy from cutting people’s Social Security and Medicaid, firing federal workers, giving Nazi salutes, slashing cancer research…Oh that’s right!
Musk: I mean, have you Tim Walz, who is a huge jerk, running on stage with the Tesla stock price.. What an evil thing to do. What a creep, what a jerk. Like who derives joy from that?

Today would have been Congressman John Lewis' 85th birthday.

John Lewis spent decades getting into good trouble and pushing us forward, dedicating his life to civil rights and justice, from the Freedom Rides to the halls of Congress.

We continue his fight for equality and justice for all.
