One reason I think so many people are being fired merely for quoting what Kirk actually said is that, based on what I've read, many of his followers were in social media silos where they never heard those things. Showing full picture risks Trump admin being able to capitalize on this politically

These are the actions of a regime that baldly does not care about optics vis-a-vis the broad public and knows that it will face no meaningful check from any other branch of government. Abducting firefighters mid-wildfire looks terrible. It would poll poorly. Not a single voter is asking for this.

This past week, the Chinese learned

1) exactly where Trump's pain points are;

2) how much to squeeze them before he flinches;

and

3) how little America's partners and allies want to help this president.

Highly useful information.

It's a careful, well-reasoned opinion that rightly describes the exclusion of AP as retaliatory, viewpoint-based, and unconstitutional. And it reaffirms that viewpoint discrimination is off-limits even in nonpublic forums. An important opinion, especially right now.

It’s a month since the administration detained and disappeared a green card holder, a lawful permanent resident.

We cannot allow this to be normalized or forgotten.

When Trump shook John Roberts’s hand on the House floor and said “Thank you, I won’t forget it” Roberts knew exactly what he meant. And he continues to act to benefit the autocrat.

This hasn't gotten enough attention.

Very effective questioning by Rep. @crow.house.gov in span of 3 mins

1. exposes how Hegseth endangered servicemembers' lives

2. shows that a scandal upon the scandal is the failure to take responsibility

This.
The AP must refuse this but more importantly the rest of the White House Correspondents Association should back them.

Boycott the press briefings until they relent, and if they refuse, walk out. There is no real use to them in any case.

Trump craves attention. Deny him that and he’ll cave.
"Today we were informed by the White House that if AP did not align its editorial standards with President Donald Trump’s executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, AP would be barred from accessing an event in the Oval Office."

Russell Vought is the architect of Project 2025, the force cutting NIH funding. But it's thanks to NIH-funded research that Vought’s daughter had access to some treatments.

“We’re extremely grateful to live in a nation that leads the way on medical innovation,” Vought's then-wife wrote in 2021.

President Trump's move to pardon nearly all of the 1,600 rioters charged with storming the Capitol on Jan. 6 would effectively undo years of efforts by federal investigators to seek accountability for the mob assault on the peaceful transfer of power after Trump's loss in the 2020 election.
Trump Grants Broad Clemency to Jan. 6 Rioters
The extraordinary pardons and commutations extended to those who committed both violent and nonviolent crimes on Jan. 6, including assaulting police officers and seditious conspiracy.

As @premthakker.bsky.social just said to me on Slack, this Trump second speech, unscripted, to the overflow hall of supporters, ranting about Pelosi, Milley, and Cheney is the REAL speech. It's the REAL him. A petty, paranoid, insecure man, obsessed with grievances and his 'enemies.'
