This is Elon trying to bank the gains/freeze the moment competition fully catches up and makes SpaceX just another space utility company at which point he won't be able to ask for 1.5 trillions valuation.

Data centres thing is just perfect pretext in the 'insane AI valuation' world we live in

Great write up of that study.

As the authors say, it's ...how EU leaders lost their patience with Viktor Orbán...and before that with David Cameron

This is Vucic trolling the EU
but also trying his luck
AND bringing down to this level those that made an effort
AND playing to domestic audiences when this 'great offer' is refused
AND weaponising regional stability as cover
AND saying Western Balkans = Greater Serbia & he speaks for it

Unbelievable cognitive dissonance from Poland!

This whole article is about how Poland's defence industry is not in a good place because of legacy issues & heavy imports of US/South Korea kit (own choice) and then the article ends with this

Will Viktor Orbán derail future EU talks? New research shows the European Council stops obstruction only when the domestic political costs become too high.

€3.4bn contract. Deliveries 2028-2032

Prior to this there were 54 of these in Ukraine (where kit tested) and 12 for Qatar. So this is also a huge leg up for the manufacturer, KNDS (🇫🇷🇩🇪).

Surely UK will folow

To answer my own question, it's David Copley, a mining expert and now in NSC.
EU should have had a 'one person' who lives and breaths rare earths 24/7. Given the complexity of EU, you need a person dedicated just to this

Between this & changes announced by First Sea Lord, maybe Britain is finally aligning strategy to resources and remembering where it sits in the world.

You can't entertain Global Britain/ Indo Pacific tilt and other such ego driven fantasies when you haven't secured your home and your backyard

And speaking of this and of there being more anti-Brexit people in the UK now that pro-Brexit, the only way UK does not become a vassal to the former colony and suffer further humiliation is if it gets as close & as fast as possible to EU.

That should be the patriotic position regardless of party.
No European country to be included in this C5 because once you've destroyed the European Union those countries don't matter as such, some of them will be favourites, some of them vassals, some of them enemies.

It's an 80s real estate guy view of the world (land mass & also Japan was big in the 80s)

I reckon that when they talk of Poland they're not thinking of Tusk seeing as it's all about the culture wars

We have near-final results in the 2 Florida legislative special elections. Neither flipped, but quite the swings toward Dems.

—Democrats kept HD90, winning it by 28%.
(Harris won here by 11%.)

—The GOP kept SD11, winning it by 18%.
(Trump won here by 40%.)

Plus, Dems flipped the Miami mayorship.

Final results in the Florida #SD11 (Trump+39) special election:

Ralph Massullo (R)- 59.2%
Ash Marwah (D)- 40.8%

A 21-point swing to the left in a deeply Republican part of Florida!

We're getting ever closer to Nordics (🇫🇮, 🇸🇪, 🇱🇻, 🇩🇪, 🇳🇴 also chose this).

Ireland should too, instead of Piranha V (Patria is cheaper to buy & run)
