Govt still deliberately ignoring they have European Convention duties and obligations and the EHRC which is similarly bound isn't doing its job properly.

Not a surprise but shows how willfully blind and bigoted they are. I'm left wondering if a full impact assessment would show them up.

Yup. That's exactly what I suspected.

The allance years are much maligned beacuse of what many see as overdone austerity - not sure it was that true in 2010, but it was clearly extended way too far later. And the oscial achievements of the LibDems in coalition are just never talked about somehow.

It was an alliance government and they probably did it to appease the LibDems?

5/ I once described the Supreme Court judgment in Scottish Ministers (and its fallout) as “borders on the illogical, pushes past irrationality”.

Expecting the courts to act rationally, then, may be asking too much.
4/ They say “men” and “women” are just words with a “purpose”, they no longer refer to actual people. And it’s so fucked up, it borders on the illogical, pushes past irrationality, and makes you seriously question the education of the judges involved.

Using the UK Supreme Court definitions , if the man proceeds to have sex with the woman voluntarily, he is transparently not a homosexual, making the question moot?

Sadly. music is not always something that brings people together, because love/hate on styles is a thing even if you exclude the brittle debate on fleeting personalities.

Seen that a lot.

I wonder what you think of the movie "Fear and Trembling". A take on this exact issue. I'm certainly not knowledgeable enough to judge it.

okay this one makes no sense, alright she's a fan of Maggie Thatcher, what monarch did Maggie Thatcher serve under...

Why does the old-school Anglophilia fail in this one case, I wonder?

Whatever about social media: are the *pupils* saying anything? I'd expect at least some learners of English to be interested?

That party name baffled me for months, would one really asociate the historical Shinsengumi with progressivism?

Then I realized it was about the role famously played by the party's founder apparently, and it clicked (I could imagine an exact Russian analogy).

A whole Royal Commission is needed to investigate the whole war on trans in the UK. It's a hate campaign which involves the destruction of institutions just to go after one small group of people which sets a dangerous precedent for everyone.

In my view, "deep research" is one AI feature positively, unquestionably useful for even in a university context; it it to using a search engine what using a search engine is to using a paper catalog of a library. Much denser set of sources, faster, a chance to get what one could have missed.

AI can't *teach* passion and curiousity, but it can actually help in those; for the non-technically-minded, the main tool for that is "Deep Research", available in both ChatGPT and Gemini. It's a brilliant source search, just don't rely on its summaries too much.

This is perfect! There's a potential continuation in that AI is a pretty interesting subject of learning itself - it's applied linguistics at least as much as data science; so one can bridge to that by asking *why* GPT wrote what it wrote.

This thing is a "symantic cloud explorer".

The fight against section 28 took LGBTQIA+ rights to equal marriage and beyond.

The fight against the Transphobic Moral Panic needs to take us further towards equality for everyone.

But right now?

Safety. Healthcare. Protection from discrimination. Human rights.
