To calm my nerves I watched @realgdt.bsky.social “Frankenstein” with my two oldest kids tonight. We were FLOORED by it. What a stunning piece of cinema. It’s gorgeous. The performances are outstanding. To the entire cast, crew, and gifted artisans that breathed life into this, thank you.

My mom goes into surgery tomorrow morning to have a cancerous tumor from her tongue. It will be a VERY long recovery where she’ll likely not be able to talk for several months. If you could send up a prayer or good thought for her, we’d appreciate it.

I have zero reach on here, but one of my kids has Turner Syndrome, & we're coming to the dreaded end-of-year "you've reached your policy's maximum," had another kid in the ER for mono?! (they're 10) on Monday, and bills are piling up. Even a share would be appreciated.

In 2004, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through all the normal treatments and surgeries and beat it.
A couple weeks ago, she called me and told me that she’s now battling tongue cancer, and that it’s in her lymph nodes. (1/?)

There's this brief bit in the movie OFFICE SPACE where the character Tom has an idea for a "Jump to Conclusions" floor mat. He pitches it to his co-workers, and Michael Bolton (no relation) says, "That is the worst idea I have ever heard in my life, Tom." Something reminded me about it this week.

I feel like I got punched in the face by people I thought loved me this weekend. It was such a brutal breach of a clear boundary I had set that I don't know that I will ever look at them the same way again. I'm deeply hurt and don't know how to move forward. I needed to put this somewhere, so here.

The spouse has had bronchitis going on 11 days. She’s not getting better despite a ridiculous regimen of meds. And she’s an RN so she’s a *terrible* patient. Her boss finally told her this morning that she needs to STOP, take a sick day, and rest. (I’ve been telling her this for over a week)

I have now seen SINNERS 3 times. I simply can’t get enough of it. There is no film that I can even begin to compare it to in terms of how much it inspires awe in me. Strikingly beautiful and powerful. So grateful to live in a moment where I’m getting to experience it in a theater.
