The final episodes of the year from @sktchd.bsky.social are something I look forward to. David ends up adding ten or so books (usually manga) to my “must read” list, and the “3 Themes” ep always ends up guiding my creative path for next year ( @comixace.bsky.social and @ashcanpress.com nailed it)

This year kind of sucked, but @giulia-lalli.bsky.social and I are ramping up to release DRAGONPROOF Aat @ahoycomicmags.bsky.social in the spring, and people DID rediscover Atlantis Wasn’t Built for Tourists this year. Proud of what I managed to do, even if I wish for more.

Like many, this year has been extremely challenging for me. But on a positive note, I couldn’t be more proud of releasing The Author Immortal with the best collaborators I could ask for. Cheers.
You can pickup three issues of my new ongoing series with @morganbeem.bsky.social, The Author Immortal, right now at your local comic shop or digital. A beautiful watercolor portal fantasy that explores death of the author, identity, and what happens when you outgrow stories that raised you.

And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, and I were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, took the belt off his neck, got in his car, and got outta there. Talk about a wild weekend, right? He thought he was gonna have to shoot his way out. What are you gonna do, though, you know? Bar mitzvahs.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, where the shadows lie, One Tim to rule them all, One Tim to find them, One Tim to bring them all, and in the darkness, bind them.

2025 was weird personally and professionally. So I'm looking back at things I did that I really liked. And I roared back to @aiptcomics.com in mid-March with what I think is a truly great profile of @goatsflyingpress.com. Sebastian does great #comics work, and I think this piece captures that depth.
Goats Flying Press prods comics to new heights (and depths)
Like many of us, Sebastian Girner woke up on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 feeling a wee bit despondent. “I’m disheartened by the state of the world,” Girner said during our Election Day-adjacent Zoom c...

One of my teachers in college said in Renaissance Italy there were people paid to attend parties, because they were witty and charismatic and could be counted on to keep the flow of conversation and excitement going. They had a title I can't remember

She said I would have been amazing at that job.

Okay, comics fam: I’m visiting a childhood friend with whom I shared a love of comics in the early 90s, but who has dropped off reading them in the intervening years. What comics make a good gift for a 40-something to reconnect them with a love of the medium?
