This is called “dry sauté” and it’s my go to for foraged mushrooms btw, especially when I’m trying one for the first time! With very few exceptions it’s the ideal way to cook them
I love you and I want you to start your mushrooms in a dry pan. DRY. Med-high heat, flip when you start seeing beads of water on the faces of 2-3 slices (3-6 minutes depending on your stove & recklessness). 2-3 more minutes, then add butter/oil (&garlic/herbs if u want), 1-2 mins. Finish w salt.

i've always thought ikebana was an incredible discipline/art form but after my debacle w the crabapple branch last night it really renewed my awe + appreciation for the extreme balancing act (both physical and aesthetic) that must be undertaken to render these arrangements
