If the King County Regional Homelessness Authority has its way, a report about an investigation into complaints against agency CEO Kelly Kinnison may remain buried forever; I asked for it after the investigation concluded and they're claiming it is attorney-client privileged in its entirety.

This is literally after she got on the mic and complained about the Strangers coverage of her during her first year actions. Continuing to demonstrate a lack of accountability for actions and how they have consequences. Thankfully Seattle voters paid attention and voted her out of office.
Tenant service providers are already stretched far beyond capacity, and the need continues to grow. Removing this funding will increase evictions, displacement, and homelessness.
Council President Nelson pulled the amendment from @councilmember-amr.bsky.social to add $400,000 to restore funding to tenant services for a full council vote. This is an amendment supported by the Seattle Renters' Commission.

We were going to host #AliceWong for her book Year of the Tiger—on @peculiarbookclub.bsky.social —but that was during a medical crisis. She came through it all, to do more amazing things. We had disability activist Cheryl Green on to celebrate her book:

You were incredible, Alice Wong, and it was a blessing to have collaborated with you on projects, to have read your words and to have heard your voice, as full of life and passion and joy and rage as it was.

You made a difference—so much of a difference.

Rest always in peace, and always in power.

Our beloved Alice Wong has joined the ancestors. It was one of the great honors of my life to call Alice my friend, co-author & co-conspirator. She was a true genius, a force of nature the likes of which the world has never seen before. I love you, Alice, and am equal parts grateful and devastated

Wilson took a 1,976-vote lead over Bruce Harrell. With a maximum of 1,320 ballots remaining, it is mathematically impossible for Harrell to catch up.

Ya know, @bruceforseattle.bsky.social ran the meanest, nastiest, dirtiest, most sexist campaign I can recall in my decades in Seattle. And that got him votes. But people of decency and hope rejected his politics of destruction. Good riddance. His family can have him.

King County elections confirmed to me that so far they’ve only counted ballots up to those submitted Monday or early on Election Day, and none from drop boxes. Wednesday reflects basically a wrap up of what they started counting Tuesday.
The general wisdom is that Wednesday is a continuation of election night and Thursday is when the lefty trend shows up. Nonetheless, this gives Harrell a bigger cushion heading into tomorrow and Friday.
Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell gained another point on progressive challenger Katie Wilson in today's ballot drop, which added about ~21,000 ballots. She trails by 8 points.

Expected bigger counts tomorrow and Friday, which are typically more progressive-favoring. Comeback still possible.

So, that’s WHY he supported the city of Seattle having more CCTV cameras! Good to know!
Huge applause at Suarez' question about whether Harrell will require protesters to take off their masks like he wants to make ICE take off their masks

Most sweeps done by THE sweeps mayor. He has brutally abused and dehumanized more unhoused neighbors than 3 mayors combined. Yet he proudly states “we don’t do sweeps.” I believe in Westlake he also stated that he’s “in these streets” so he can’t be doing sweeps 🤣🤣
Harrell campaigners back at Lake City Farmers Market today. I’m told they read my Bluesky so hi I guess! This time Harrell’s fam member was volunteering. When asked why they are voting for Bruce, they said they don’t live in Seattle so won’t actually be able to vote and don’t know Seattle politics.

You got your ballots? Nelson is on it, vote her duplicitous a$$ out.
Because Alexis Mercedes Rinck and Mark Solomon didn't have the required quorum to hold a meeting (as mentioned, Saka and Nelson told the committee less than 5 minutes before the meeting that they wouldn't attend), they had to do a "community discussion" with all the appointees who showed up today.
