If no oil is extracted within your city limits, every gas pump pumps money out of your regional economy.

Bicycles and pedestrians keep the money circulating.

Car brand BYD's new SUV ad pokes fun at people walking and cycling, comparing them to Horse & Carts.

It joins a long list of car ads that sell a false promise of convenience and aspiration while punching down at sustainable transport modes.

So I made it a bit more realistic...

Things that DO make traffic worse:

- TOO MANY CARS
- SUBURBAN SPRAWL
- CAR DEPENDENCY (even for short trips)
- Bigger vehicles
- On-street parking
- ride-hailing

Things that DON’T make traffic worse (actually mitigate congestion):

Bike lanes
Bus lanes
Decongestion pricing

Why are we asking our children to "share the road" with oversized vehicles? Without adequate infrastructure, the freedom of a person to drive these vehicles conflicts with the freedom of children to move around neighborhoods and cities safely.

Okay bike nerds. Anyone have a suggestion for a wide (52cm+) gravel drop bar that's from a Canadian brand? Apparently we just make flat bars here

The good thing about rarely driving my car is that I do not care at all about gas prices. A 10¢/L difference is $4 /tank which, if I fill up once a month, is less than $50/year
