A love letter to my beloved self worth:

Today I was off.
Today I slept in.
Today I journaled and re-imagined what I need to make it through these moments.
Today I wrote down projects bringing me joy.
Today I mapped out a timeline for my ordination paper.
Today I existed for me.
It was beautiful.

The US DOT says it's planning to prioritize areas with high marriage & high birth rates for funding.

Our new analysis @urbaninstitute.bsky.social shows this would disproportionately fund:
—Communities with a higher white resident share
—Low-density areas
—High-income areas
—Car-dependent areas
DOT’s Plan to Distribute Funding by Birth and Marriage Rates Would Leave Communities Most In Need Behind
If enacted, the new US Department of Transportation memo would prioritize funding to whiter, higher-income, more car-dependent areas over communities of color and people who walk, bike, or take public...

Donald Trump has released a new EO to "eradicate anti-Christian bias."

What is one of the examples of "anti-Christian bias" cited in his order? The recognition by Biden of Transgender Day of Visibility, which fell on the same day as Easter Sunday last year.

Today I turn 37.

It’s been hard to feel “festive” @ my 🌞 return. Lesser known fact: I’m a survivor of violent trauma due to LGBTQ+ hatred. This season is hard on my body. Yet, being a survivor also means I will not relent in being me.

Thank God I’m queer & still here. 💫

Guys, I know I’ve posted this article a lot in the last two weeks. But I’m so serious.

They’re not fucking around, and major executive action aimed at trans literature could happen as soon as tomorrow. The time to take action to protect trans books and authors is *now.*
Okay, here’s the deal: RIGHT NOW is the time for concrete, direct action.

If you’re following me, it’s probably because you care about trans art and trans literature. The article below lays out my suggestions for dozens of concrete actions you can take to preemptively combat literary censorship.
The Trans Literature Preservation Project: A Practical Guide to Resisting Censorship
Project 2025 wants to criminalize trans literature. Here’s a game plan for keeping our stories alive.

Cis folks, check on your trans friends right now. I don't ever think I've seen this many friends in crisis. It's beyond anything I ever imagined. We're not ok.

Montgomery County Public Schools comes out and tells Trump to pound sand with his EO telling schools that they have to discriminate against transgender students.

This is how you refuse to comply.

On day one Trump's EO said we were harmful to kids. On day two, it said we were dishonorable and disloyal. On day three, it said we were unAmerican.

Transgender people have been a part of this country for centuries.

We are not going anywhere.

Do not comply with these EOs, they are not law.

This is my favorite picture of Stonewall.

They knew they were getting arrested just for being LGBTQ+.

Yet... they're still here, standing outside of the boarded up Stonewall Inn, smiling as the world was at a fever pitch of hatred against them.

I think about it a lot in moments like this.

Alright all - I'm stepping away for this evening. I'll be back in later tonight to see if there's any more updates.

Stay safe, if you're trans, stay with us, we are not giving up.

And most of all... these EOs are not law, they are not passed by congress, do NOT comply.

It’s important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too.

Not all of it can be broadcast online, but we’ve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more.

Keep going. Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.

7. The rest of the EO is the implementation of a "1776 curriculum" to promote "patriotic education."

That is all for my read of this executive order.

It will depend on teachers, school systems complying in advance - this is perhaps his most blatantly illegal EO of the anti-trans ones. Don't do it.

6. Sec 3(c): chilling. It directs the AG and state AGs to go after teachers that allow social transition for "sexually exploiting minors" or "practicing medicine without a license."

This is likely going to be used to terrorize school districts and teachers with trans kids, and the kids themselves.

5. Sec 3(b) says that it will pull funding from any school that does not forcibly out its students, any school that "supports" the social transition of their trans students, and more.

This is an unconstitutional attempt to force every trans kid in America in schools to detransition at school.

4. Sec 3(a) says that it is Trump's policy to eliminate federal funding for any school that supports "gender ideology." Given the definitions section around social transition and other sections, this will likely mean schools that let trans kids use the bathroom, use their names, etc.

Major news breaking from NOTUS on Trump’s trans passport ban:

It will not be retroactive.

Very glad I and others encouraged people to get their passports in the lead up to Trump’s inauguration.

Now hopefully this EO is defeated in court.

Trump’s Gender Order Won't Affect Existing Passports — Unless They’re Renewed
“They can still apply to renew their passport — they just have to use their God-given sex, which was decided at birth,” the White House press secretary told NOTUS.
