My work phone and my personal phone are constantly trying to do the phone equivalent of shag and it’s getting on my nerves. Is there a way to stop it? I want to be able to keep them in the same pocket

Plastic surgeons in DC are being asked by Trump insiders to get plastic surgery that's obvious and in keeping with "Mar-a-Lago face."
Paging @inbedwiththeright.bsky.social, whose episode on Republican Makeup (another term for the same tendency) was an eye-opener for me.

Looking forward to a bbc news report where the newsreader throws over to a bbc reporter who is standing outside the place the newsreader is saying that he or she is outside the BBC and had approached the BBC for comment and no one from the BBc was available before throwing back inside.

An artefact going into a private collection doesn’t… stop existing.
What a weird fucking attitude. Obvs not ideal but, frankly, no one needs to give the *British museum* their find for free, particularly when we know they can’t actually look after their artefacts. They’ll just end up on eBay.

Unfortunately, this actually DID happen to Glasgow, and it’s a fucking travesty
Earlier this week I spoke to London Centric about the Ringways Map and all things unbuilt London - they’ve dedicated the whole of their latest edition to the story! substack.com/home/post/p-...
Would your home have been under a motorway?
"The most astonishing and destructive thing never to happen to London," says the man who has spent twenty years researching the first true map of the unbuilt Ringways.

So the ten quid, originally awarded in 1972 to put towards a Christmas dinner, presents etc. should’ve increased with inflation so it was worth £168 today. The tight fuckers.
Looking forward to my DWP Christmas bonus payment of ten quid.

I feel fairly unsympathetic about mercenaries being disappointed war is horrid.
Like, I completely accept people do it, particularly ex-soldiers, and am *fairly* non-judgemental about it, but complaining that the war you joined to make money is risky to your health and safety? Come the fuck on.

If someone ever says “trust me” just don’t.
Can she say any of this about a case that is sub judice? Either way, it's her name on the accounts too. Her argument by implication is that she didn't check them before signing them off. That is a dubious thing to imply.

Basically every thing that people reply “shouldn’t parents be teaching that” is explicitly something some parents ARE teaching and some aren’t able to, which entrenches inequality.

Call me controversial, but technology that leads vulnerable people into crisis and even holds their hand as they die by suicide should not be endorsed by schools and universities, we should not be giving discounted subscriptions to this monstrous tech to young people AT ALL
The boyfriend of a friend of my son's has spent several weeks in a psych ward due to Chat GPT induced psychosis. He isn't suicidal but AI encouraged him down a toxic and paranoid wormhole until he became completely delusional. Evil stuff.
1.This is not the only known example we know of ChatGPT cheering on a vulnerable young person to die by suicide, this time it is a recent Texas A&M grad
2. Every single university that has invited OpenAI into our midst should be asked to account for their choices.

People who give a toss about someone being a “sir” are genuinely quite embarrassing though. Like, only their mums should care about this, and spouses/children pretend to care. Siblings should, as ever, remain mocking.
