Thought it'd be good to do an introduction post - Hi! I'm Adam, an escape game, puzzle box, solo ttrpg, and board game designer.

The pictures are of my puzzleboxes, my solo/coop card game "My Small Garden", one of the rooms in my Air BnB game, and elements from my escape game builds.
Three large puzzle boxes on tables. One has a set of gears and a lock on it side the other has a large Circle and another one has a maze with shapes. There are cards in a person's hand. In the background there are Black and White cards in a grid. A parlor with a large mirror above fireplace a couch lamp pictures on the wall. In the center is a rug with a circular table on top of it. On the table there are several boxes some locks and papers. On the edge of a large crate is a globe and Egyptian statue a Caesar Cipher wheel magnifying glass and some keys. The background is a brick wall.

#3157 A helpful tutorial
A digital drawing of one of those drawing tutorials that says 'don't do this, do this.' The drawing is of an almost naked middle-aged man doing a flying kick. The 'Don't do this' one has a bunch of areas circled and a cross under it. The 'Do this' one is exactly the same but without the circles and a tick instead of a cross. The text reads 'Needlessly adding red circles will ruin your art' and a smaller bit of text at the bottom reads 'Bonus tip! Add a tick under all your art so people think you did it right.'

A plumber working on my pipes is distraught, and I find out that two of his employees were kidnapped that morning. A week later it happens again. An email arrives. Agents with guns have chased a teacher into the school where she works. They did not have a warrant. They dragged her away, ignoring her and her colleagues’ pleas to show proof of her documentation. That evening I stand a few feet from the parents of Rayito de Sol and listen to them describe, with anguish, how good Ms. Diana was to their children. What it is like to have strangers with guns traumatize your kids. For a teacher to hide a three-year-old child for fear they might be killed. How their relatives will no longer leave the house. I hear the pain and fury in their voices, and I wonder who will be next. Understand what it is to pray in Chicago. On September 19th, Reverend David Black, lead pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Chicago, was praying outside the ICE detention center in Broadview when a DHS agent shot him in the head with pepper balls. He is not the only member of the clergy ICE has assaulted. Mass market games are more likely to be sold in "normal" stores instead of hobby stores/direct sales. Also less likely to have the designer credited (or framed as "a game by" x), more likely for games to be "owned" by the publisher.

It's a little like trying to separate a movie from an "art movie".

Is there a generally understood definition of hobby board games vs. Mass Market board games? 🎲✂️
It feels wrong to me to just chalk it up to the number sold, but I'm not sure why that is.

Caught up on the livecast from this week. Someone mentioned that other companies are starting to put 'no ai was used' kind of notes on their games and in rulebooks. I think y'all might be interested to know that there is a movement there and people look for that!
