Last weekend I visited Fanø again, as I try to do once a year, and I was made aware that a new art shop www.galleriroholt.dk had opened in Esbjerg.
I didn't find the time to go visit, but I did check out their website and that ended up exactly how such curiosity always ends up for me 😅 #watercolour

I worked on this yesterday and today. It was a surprise that the paper has gone completely off, so any new colour I put on it sucked right in like copic markers, and was impossible to work with.
I didn't like what I was seeing at first, but as I kept working I liked it better.

I haven't been working with drawing and painting a lot the past couple of years, but I just worked on a watercolor painting that I started back then.

I feel kinda silly even commenting on this, but bluesky is not dying in my eyes, and in fact, is currently not only keeping @skypeascientist.bsky.social afloat, but doing that herculean task basically by itself because instagram has gated engagement so badly and tumblr has been mid.

I have seen a worrying amount of "chatgpt gives me detailed, plausible answers when I ask it for something I don't know anything about, but whenever I ask it a technical question in an area of my own expertise it gets it wrong, so of course I don't use it for that stuff" from educated professionals

I wish people would understand the difference between analytical "AI" and generative algorithms using LLMs. The former is used for pattern recognition at high rates and precision humans can't replicate and highly useful in medicine and science. The latter is autocomplete with delusions of grandeur.
