I’ve said this a million times but one of the funnier aspects of the right-wing propaganda ecosystem is that they complain incessantly about a “mainstream media” upon which they are utterly and completely parasitic.
Worth examining why there's so little actual reporting in right-wing pubs.
The NYT, Atlantic, NYer, WaPo, etc., have rigorous professional standards: seeking comment; taking counterarguments seriously; changing facts, minds after responses; layers of editing; fact-checking.

so much discourse about 2020/2021 is predicated on the idea that either there was a way to shut down a lot of society for months on end without any ill effects if we had just done it right, or that there was never a need to do it at all. what i'm suggesting is, maybe neither of those things is true
I’m gonna do a limited defense of the guy everyone is dunking on (not gonna link to bring more pile on): the highest quality evidence we have shows remote schooling genuinely was bad in terms of learning and socialization, and the ripple effects likely are substantial

FWIW, the Heritage Foundation has a journalism fellowship named after the Guardabassi family. The male head of that family was one of Mussolini's emissaries in the US in the 1930s, and his wife "Countess Guardabassi" was one of the leading funders of US antisemites and neo-Nazis in the 1950s-60s.
An appropriate way to understand Project Esther, and Trump's "anti-semitism" purge, is that it is predominantly driven by right-wing Christian nationalists attacking institutions they dislike, even if it also includes attacking Jewish students and groups.

My point isn't about Biden; it's that I decline the debate, both framing and timing. I don't prefer Biden over better candidates; I never did. I want to suggest we choose to decline to have the exact conversation that a fascist party wants us to have in the exact way they want us to have it.
